Another Birthday

Hi! Hope everyone is having a great week. We are on our 3rd cancellation day in just a couple weeks.  No school for the kids again today.  Thankfully not snow again, but a lot of rain and flooding.  The kids have rather enjoyed it.  I am sure they will not be thrilled when they have to make the day up at the end of the year.  Oh well.

Okay, now on to my card.  I am running low on some birthday cards so I decided to start getting caught up that is why most of my cards have been Happy Birthday lately.

Today's card is for this weeks sketch at Cardabilities.  This weeks sketch is #68 and so cute.   My card base is my favorite go to Crumb cake.  I also used soft suede.  The pattern paper is from the Print Poetry design series stack.  I used my SU labels collection framelits to cut out the the center image and the butterfly punch for the butterflies. The sentiment is from the set Petite Pairs.
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to go over and join this weeks sketch at Cardabilities which you can find here,

First Snow

Good morning!  Well I am a little late posting these pictures.  These were taken last Thursday here in Christiansburg, VA.  It was our first snow of the year on Thursday night, January 17.  The school let out 2 hours early because it was suppose to snow. About half hour after getting home from picking them up at school, my hubby called and asked if I needed anything because the roads were already getting bad.  thankfully I planned ahead and had gone to the store that morning.  This is what the snow had looked like by 6:00 pm.

The girls had a blast playing outside.  They didn't last long as we don't really have the proper attire since last year it had only snow twice.  Plus the fact that we haven't really gotten a lot.

Well we are home again today for another snow day.  I got the call from the school at 5:30 a.m.  Good Lord I love the phone notification system.  I am so thankful I signed up for that last year.  Basically if there is a delay or cancellation or if the school needs to close early you get an automated message from the school.  I don't have to worry about getting up and turning on the radio or the television for the news to see if we were cancelled.  So at 5:29 a.m. the phone rang. I assumed they were going to do the same thing and just send the kids home early today.  But nope....school is cancelled.  We have NO snow yet but boy is it cold out.  I am not sure when the snow is suppose to start but at least we don't have to worry about going out in it.   So maybe later today when the snow starts I will have more pictures to share.

Hope everyone in the path of the storm stays safe and warm.

Happy Birthday!

Good morning all!  Hope you are all having a great day!

I am back today with another sketch from Cardabilities.  This week is sketch # 67.   I had fun playing with this sketch. I used the 2011-2013 in colors Indigo and Limeaid as well as Crumb Cake and white Card Stock.   The stamp set I used is Moving Forward I so love this stamp set but this is the first time I inked it up!  I also love that fact that every time someone purchases this stamp set a donation is made to Make-a-Wish foundation.  That is just awesome. Anyway...I embossed the white cardstock with Chevron Embossing Folder.  The ribbon I found in my stash of ribbon.  Not really sure where I got it.   The image I decided to change from a Circle to this label shape.  I used the Framelits Window Frames Collection ...and the matching overlay that I can use to punch the holes.  Love that little tool.

Well thanks for stopping by and make sure you head over to Cardabilities to play along with the sketch!
